11 Luxury Dog Houses Best Fancy Dog Kennels & Crates

In his testimony, Mr. Pecker also spoke of an earlier postelection meeting at Trump Tower, in December 2016. Michael D. Cohen, Mr. Trump’s lawyer and fixer, asked him to persuade Mr. Trump to pay out his holiday bonus, Mr. Pecker said. He also testified that Mr. Cohen had told him he had not yet been repaid for the $130,000 he had spent on a hush-money deal with a porn star, Stormy Daniels. The second week of Donald Trump’s Manhattan criminal trial was dominated by four days of testimony by David Pecker, the former publisher of The National Enquirer, who detailed his efforts to safeguard Mr. Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign. The criminal trial of Donald Trump featured vivid testimony on Thursday about a plot to protect his first presidential campaign and the beginnings of a tough cross-examination of the prosecution’s initial witness, David Pecker. The third witness in the criminal trial of Donald J. Trump is Gary Farro, a banker who is testifying on Friday about his work with Mr. Trump’s former lawyer and fixer on a $130,000 hush-money deal in 2016.

takeaways from David Pecker’s testimony so far.

For Mr. Pigott, 64, who has written a book about the history of the city’s courthouses, the real significance is what it says about the status of a few blocks of Manhattan as a nexus. He pointed out that Mr. Trump’s civil fraud case and defamation case also both played out this year in courthouses within spitting distance of the criminal trial. In 1957, Universal Studios lost the rights to the original story,[5] and a remake was released in 1963, directed by William Castle and co-produced with Hammer Film Productions. For many years, the original version was considered a lost film and gained a tremendous reputation as one of the pre-eminent gothic horror films.

Here’s what we know about Gary Farro, the third witness.

Tom enters the house, and finds that his roommate Casper is dead. Gladys says her relationship with William is platonic, and suggests she should live with Roger instead. They go back to the house, where they wake up William and tell him about their new romance. Meanwhile, Philip and Margaret go into the room where he heard the voice; they find Roderick Femm there. He warns them about his eldest son, Saul, a crazed pyromaniac kept in the locked room. Philip and Margaret discover that Morgan has let Saul out; they go downstairs to warn the other guests.

Five takeaways from the second week of Donald J. Trump’s criminal trial.

Prosecutors and defense lawyers presented dueling portraits of Mr. Trump’s actions. Another vintage masterpiece, this 20th century French dog home is made in the Baroque Revival style. A place for the love of all things Horror, Science Fiction, Drama, and Comedy.

Trump looks utterly spent as he rises at the end of the long first week of testimony in his criminal trial. As he passes reporters, he grimaces, then glares, putting on a braver face as he leaves the courtroom. The banker, Gary Farro, said that Mr. Cohen was assigned to him at First Republic Bank. Mr. Cohen always had a sense of urgency and a preference for secrecy, Mr. Farro testified, most notably around the time Mr. Cohen arranged an October 2016 hush-money payment to a porn star who said she had a sexual encounter with Mr. Trump, Stormy Daniels. Mr. Trump’s reimbursement of that payment is at the heart of the criminal case.

After the first two witnesses testified about Trump’s personal behavior, we’re getting a dry recitation of banking transactions now, a reminder of what this trial’s charges relate to. This material is dry but the prosecutor, Rebecca Mangold, is questioning Gary Farro slowly and deliberately. Farro said that Michael Cohen was eager to connect with him and wanted to open a limited liability company immediately. Farro then took steps to open an account for him and specified with his team that Cohen didn’t want addresses on the checks. The first criminal trial of former President Donald J. Trump is underway.

Antique Neoclassical Cream Painted Dog House

This well-performed, atmospheric thriller features the first starring horror role for Boris Karloff, as the hulking, disfigured butler. The Cohen Film Collection is proud to present this stunning new 4K restoration. It was placed at number 71 on a Time Out poll of the best horror films. Justice Merchan imposed the gag order on Mr. Trump in late March, barring him from making public statements about any witnesses, prosecutors, jurors or court staff, as well as their families. But within a week, Mr. Trump found a loophole in the order and repeatedly attacked the judge’s daughter, a Democratic political consultant.

On Friday, one of Mr. Trump’s lawyers, Emil Bove, sought to find inconsistencies related to what Mr. Pecker had said about his interactions with Mr. Trump and his reasons for publishing negative stories about his opponents. The lawyer for Donald J. Trump who on Friday led the cross-examination of David Pecker, the former publisher of The National Enquirer and first witness in the trial, used confrontational questioning to try to catch Mr. Pecker in contradictions. For a decade, Robert Pigott, a lawyer, has led walking tours of the courthouses of Manhattan, guiding visitors around landmarks where the city’s rich legal history has played out. Now the trial of Donald J. Trump has added a chapter to the story he gets to tell. After the hush-money payment became public, Ms. Daniels’s lawyer at the time, Michael Avenatti, provided NBC News with an email from an assistant to Mr. Farro confirming the transfer.

She has been on the team for several years, and she typically sits with Christopher Conroy, another prosecutor, behind the main table. But Mr. Pecker later testified that the agreement’s real purpose had been to bury the story of the affair. Mr. Trump is charged with 34 felony counts of falsifying business records in an effort to conceal the payment. Mr. Trump has pleaded not guilty and denied that he had sex with Ms. Daniels. This canine retreat marries the classic dog house look—complete with bone-shaped name plate—with a more modern aesthetic. Oh, your dog house wasn't crafted in the 1960s in Switzerland?

At the conclusion of his testimony today, Gary Farro referenced a document showing that Michael Cohen opened a limited liability company called Essential Consultants L.L.C., and indicated that it was a real estate consulting company. The company was later used to pay Stormy Daniels the hush money. His testimony also teed up the story of Stormy Daniels, a porn star who claims to have had sex with Mr. Trump in 2006 and received a hush-money payment in the days before the 2016 election, a deal at the center of the case. Prosecutors on Thursday accused former President Donald J. Trump of violating a gag order four additional times, saying that he continues to defy the judge’s directions not to attack witnesses, prosecutors and jurors in his hush-money trial.

During dinner, the group are joined by Sir William Porterhouse and a chorus girl with the stage name Gladys DuCane, who also seek refuge from the storm. As the group chats by the fireplace, Gladys reveals her real last name is Perkins. The electric lights go out and Rebecca tells Horace to get a lamp from an upstairs landing. As he fetches the lamp, he notices a locked room and hears a voice coming from another room.

“The eyes of the nation and the world are trained on criminal court cases in New York County, whether it’s organized crime, Wall Street cases or federal cases,” Mr. Pigott said. Mr. Pigott’s tours, which he runs in his spare time, revolve around a cluster of downtown buildings that are the borough’s judicial hub. For now, 100 Centre Street — the Manhattan Criminal Courthouse, where the former president’s case is being heard — is the focus. Ms. Graff continued her service during his 2016 presidential campaign and after Mr. Trump moved into the White House. Ms. McDougal is a former Playboy model who has claimed to have had sex with Mr. Trump.

Stormy appears to be a reference to Stormy Daniels, who has also claimed to have had an affair and whose hush-money payment is central to the criminal case against Mr. Trump. Trump cracks a small smile as Graff speaks glowingly of her time working for Trump. She says she never had the same day twice and called Trump “fair” as a boss. Farro was a banker at First Republic when Michael Cohen was seeking to arrange the $130,000 payment to Stormy Daniels. Cohen, seeking to get the money together, was contacted by Farro’s assistant at First Republic Bank.

For The Innocents, most of what you see of Bly Manor exists on the sound stages within Shepperton Studios, while a facade was constructed on the lot. For the larger exterior shots, director Jack Clayton selected the old gothic mansion that stood defiantly atop Sheffield Park in East Sussex. House is a haunted mansion flick with more on its mind than creaky floorboards and things that go bump in the night. The supernatural elements serve as a metaphor for PTSD, though the film is packed with too much humor to work as a truly effective examination of the condition. Mr. Trump has been subdued compared with his appearances at civil trials in Manhattan, where he was known to mutter loudly and twice stormed out. He detailed a deal with a former doorman of a Manhattan building managed by the Trump Organization who said that Mr. Trump had fathered a child out of wedlock. Despite the story being false, Mr. Pecker said the tabloid paid him $30,000 to prevent embarrassment.

15 Ways To Add Coastal Interior Design Style To Your Home

beach interior design

To address privacy screens, consider durable options that can withstand constant exposure to harsh elements while providing seclusion. Engaging a knowledgeable contractor with experience in beachfront properties will be vital to navigate local regulations and to employ sustainable building techniques effectively. Your beach house can become a sanctuary where the boundaries between inside and out are gracefully dissolved. On the other hand, patios provide a more grounded experience, connected directly to your landscaping and surroundings.

Don't limit the beach house look to your interiors, get those vibes going in your garden too! If you are after a quick, budget-friendly way to bring in a bit of that seaside charm, pick out a few pieces of of tableware. This collection from John Lewis is just the right amount of seaside without becoming too twee. Note how there is a healthy mix of your obviously sea inspired motifs (starfish, crabs, etc) and non-maritime prints too, to keep the look fresh and modern. Mix Materials

Textiles like cotton, linens, jute and natural elements are instrumental in delivering the coastal style. Some natural materials go a step ahead and are made from grass found in some coastal regions. The classic American coastal style will house elements like seashells, netting, healthy use of rattan and wicker, and very soft use of light shaded pastel color scheme everywhere. Imagine the tranquillity and serenity you feel when you are near the coast. The interior design style has been around for a long time, invisible to the social eye. The coastal design scheme is an organic culmination of the way people who lived around the coast designed their homes.

Feature Nautical Lighting

It helps modernize a seaside atmosphere to have aesthetic appeal and functional aspects. Modern Coastal design can deliver the beachy lifestyle without the tackiness. Instead of a visually screaming aesthetic consisting of colored surfboards or wall art, it is replaced by a subtle design language. When choosing the best soft furnishings for a beachy scheme, look to those with a relaxed, lived-in feel.

In addition to saving space, these shelves also show the beach interior’s character. A small touch can bring a coastal look to contemporary beach interiors. This chic bedroom, for instance, has a fun scallop scatter pillow right at its center. Try using these spirited naturals on walls or on larger upholstered pieces, like sofas.

The first rule of a thriving coastal interpretation is to keep your aesthetics light and airy. To achieve this, you need to find the right shade of wood that compliments your design’s other textures and patterns. Unfortunately, dark wood proves to be too overpowering and doesn’t give you that light and straightforward emotion. You must bring in warm shades of browns and yellows with the help of naturally sourced textures. This means you can pair it with modern and sleek elements like Carrara marble tiles, and it will dissolve effortlessly into the coastal language.

We have embarked on CCL ships, walked through the empty casino and the smell of smoke could knock you off your feet. They definitely need to work on their filtration systems. We cruised end of October and had pretty much same experience. People on  this cruise were very nice OR extremely rude.

The poblano and corn soup was a lukewarm and thin, like chicken broth thickened with potato flakes and has four carrot slivers on top - no peppers, potatoes, corn, or flavor. Mushroom soup pretty much the same, very watered down. By the beginning of day three, instead of hunger as lunch and dinner times approached, I feel my stomach just clench and a feeling of dread. Only the second cruise ever where I was ready to go home days before the end of the cruise. My cruises have been about 50% Royal Caribbean and 30% Carnival, with about four each on Princess, Celebrity, and MSC. We have also cruised on Norwegian three times but will no longer book with them.

Carnival Ships and Roll Calls

I think some of the passengers were more rude and irritated because of the lines unfortunately. Will never cruise from NY again, although we live on Long Island - an absolute fiasco!! We've sailed for 30 years and mostly in winter out of different Florida ports. Hated having so many colder sea days (although we were actually lucky with good weather in the 60's, so we could be outside up on Serenity deck those days).

Carnival Freedom Roll Calls

Never had that experience on any ship/cruise before. Also, a lot of them were first time cruisers -- I knew this because the comedians always asked the audience, and they were always surprised to hear the answers from the crowd. And, (I don't know if it's correlated), based on what I saw, almost all the first time cruisers were black, at least on this ship. If this is a Vista class ship they dropped the ball in the buffet because the other ships are way better. We just came back from a 10-day cruise on Venezia out of Manhattan.

That was quite a turn off for me, but I was warned on TripAdvisor before hand that NY’ers have a tend to be rude, just the way of life there. 🤷‍♀️ casino smoke was horrible and worse when they tried to clean it with an overwhelming smell of air freshener. Embarkation was actually pretty good for us, debarking was a bit ridiculous. We had the shuttle to JFK and what a mess out there trying to find the bus! We are currently on the Vista, experiencing our absolute worst cruise out of ninety-five on different cruise lines. I thought people were exaggerating about inedible and disgusting food, but now understand exactly what they were saying.

There have been cutbacks on all five lines, but none come even close to what Carnival has done. This ships design is perfect for northern cruises, as we all know she was designed for another line and has been “adapted” to CCL. They have a strong amount of experience sailing out of NYC and also sailing out of there year round. Overall, I am sure they are pleased with cabins sales, but it comes down to revenue optimization. I wouldn’t suggest this ship for anyone who loves spending most of their time on the lido deck because it is small and incredibly stuffy and hot when the roof is closed.

Tips for future guests on Venezia

They looked like garnishes instead of ingredients actually listed in the description of the dish. I was served an Emeril’s salad with peppercorn dressing in the description, absolutely dry, without a drop of dressing. When I requested salad dressing, I was eventually brought a container of garlic mayonnaise.

General Cruising Topics

However, selecting the right solutions takes preparation and research. This guide outlines five areas of consideration to help you find the right fit. A place to post any severe weather that may effect cruising. A place for everyone to introduce themselves.

Even though NY is our homeport, we have waited on booking Venezia due to some of the problems Mieng mentioned. We were hoping they would straighten out the embarkation/debarkation issues by now. As far as Kona_wahine's comment on NYers tending to be rude - not all of us are - lol! We have had the same issues with some Miami cruises. As far as smoke on CCL ships go - I entirely agree. Wish they would make the casino non-smoking, as the smell does tend to build up and drift to other parts of the ship.

They were also correct about the horrible design of the Liquid Lounge, and of the smoke. We are booked on the Venezia in January 2025 but will be canceling it as soon as we get home. Thank you to all of you who have posted here for confirming our concerns. I enjoyed Venezia despite a few of its flaws. I planned on writing a review but the holidays are taking all my time at the moment. I’ll be sailing her again in February and I hope it’s at least an equally enjoyable experience.

The prime rib was full of ugly chunks of fat and was unappetizing enough to ruin the meal on its own. Yesterday’s lunch at JiJi’s (free) was carmelized pineapple pork noodles. There was one small piece each of pineapple, red pepper, and broccoli on the top of the large bowl of bland noodles, along with five small pieces of pork.

I posted my review and it’s waiting for the censor to approve, but I thought to provide a few more practical tips to folks on the boards here. Search for or add a roll call for any sailing on the Sunshine. I thought the ship was beautiful and the food was pretty good.

Find your Carnival Freedom Roll Call by choosing your sailing month from the drop down menu below. For me the biggest issue with embarkation was the terminal employees were telling people to get in line as they were coming through the building. We were sitting and our group A02 wasn’t called yet so we said screw it and went in line too. Here's where you can discuss anything related to Carnival Cruise Line, including things like the latest news, questions and friendly chat about your upcoming cruise.

Louie Claire will join the lineup in June until September 2024 – and we now know that John Loney will be in charge of those interim months from April until June. The newest Excel-class ship sailing for Carnival has two big hitters are her cruise directors. Kyndall Fire led the way since the ship debuted, but she’s now on a break, with Louie Clare in charge from March until May. There is no set schedule for the next cruise director, as it is subject to change. The cruise directors on Carnival Sunshine all bring a bright light of fun and excitement every guest can enjoy. Elizabeth Clough, James Love, and Adam Gilbert will all lead the way aboard the ship in 2024. Both Adam Gilbert and Gary Blair offer uniquely fun leadership as cruise directors and will bring great flair and excitement to Carnival Liberty on their contract assignments. Here is the entire Carnival cruise director schedule fleetwide for 2024 and 2025, including all the new cruise ships. The best cruise directors are entertaining and sincere, as well as organized. As a cruise director, I’m responsible for hosting various events like trivia contests, gameshows, and deck parties. I also act as a liaison between the guests and the ship’s crew, ensuring that all their needs and concerns are addressed promptly. Managing the entertainment team and closely collaborating with the hotel director and entertainers, my role as a cruise director is crucial to ensuring every guest has an unforgettable experience onboard. And with the cruise directors bringing their engaging personalities and talents to each ship, guests are in for an unforgettable experience. The cruise line released its line-up of cruise directors that will be on the four vessels to sail in the coming weeks and months. The ships include Carnival Breeze and Carnival Vista, sailing from Galveston Texas, Carnival Horizon from Miami, and Carnival Miracle from Seattle.

On January 7th, 2024, the energetic Dustin Gabriel took over the role of CD on the ship. The hilarious Jake Miller takes over on May 23rd, and is due to remain on the ship until November. Stjepan Neral took over from February through to May, and then Savannah Mitchell will then be in charge of the entertainment until October 2024.

I’m thrilled to share that Lawrence West and Alex Siegler will be the Cruise Directors for the Carnival Breeze in 2023. These Cruise Directors are well-known for their engaging personalities and their ability to create unforgettable experiences for guests. Carnival Radiance and Carnival Sunrise offer a fresh take on cruising, with directors focused on crafting personalized and immersive experiences for every guest. With Louis Claire kicking off the year, followed by the talents of Leon Smith and Lee Mason, the newest addition to the fleet is set to dazzle with innovative entertainment options. This basically means he won’t be assigned to a specific ship but will instead work across the whole fleet in a training and support role to his fellow Cruise Directors.

The Carnival Luminosa brings the most talented and diligent directors. Cruise directors often introduce the evening’s entertainment or production shows, host question-and-answer sessions, make onboard announcements, greet embarking passengers, and more. The dates for each cruise director indicate the beginning and end of a specific ship contract (??? indicates an unknown end date), with multiple entries listed for different individual contracts. Previously Carnival Triumph before an extensive $200 million refurbishment in 2019, Carnival Sunrise now sails from Miami, offering cruises to the Bahamas and Western Caribbean destinations. The vessel is updated and sailing smoothly after her October 2023 dry dock that finally replaced her whale tale funnel that was damaged in a fire in May 2022.

The first of the 133,600-gross-ton, Vista-class ships, Carnival Vista sails year-round from the world’s busiest cruise port, Port Canaveral, offering a variety of top Caribbean itineraries. Louis Clare was originally assigned to the ship through November, but that assignment has been shortened and no new cruise director has yet been assigned past early September. A very popular ship with Carnival fans and repeat cruisers, the first-in-class Carnival Spirit sails from Mobile, Alabama each winter and repositions to Seattle for the Alaska sailing season each summer. On a Carnival Cruise, the Cruise Director is the most visible and also “the voice” of the ship, making many of the public announcements.

The cruise director is one of the most visible members of a ship’s crew. He or she is the “face” of fun for Carnival Cruise Line’s Fun Squad—the crew members who host trivia contests, lead deck parties, judge contests, and share other fun with every guest. It takes a radiant personality to lead the fun aboard Carnival Radiance, and that is just what Michael D’Auria is doing this year. Lia Stivers was scheduled as cruise director for the spring and early summer, but that assignment has been changed and Carnival Radiance does not yet have a confirmed cruise director later in the year. Every cruise director aboard Carnival Pride takes great pride in delivering exceptional experiences with Jasper Wade and Dustin Gabriel filling that role for much of 2024. End-of-year holiday season assignments for the next cruise director to the ship are yet to be announced.

With such a dynamic team, passengers on the Carnival Spirit can look forward to an unforgettable and lively cruising experience. Michael brings plenty of warmth and fun to the role, and guests on Carnival Radiance are sure to have a wonderful time with his help. Once Lia’s run ends, Jasper Wade will take over, staying with the ship until October. With their infectious energy and ability to create fun-filled experiences, these Cruise Directors are guaranteed to bring a smile to every passenger’s face and make the cruise an unforgettable adventure. He is responsible for the overall management and safety of the passengers on the cruise ship. The Erin Weigand is most famous personality among the Carnival fleet directors, she joined the Carnival Spirit on August 15, 2023, after her the Alex Siegler will take the roll on November 11, 2023.

Ranier Scholtz just finished a contract, while Tyler Meehan, Marty Pitts, and Zackary Paiement-Dockrill are all on the schedule for the ship in the coming months as she sails in Australia and Alaska. Excited to embark on my next adventure, I am eager to discover all the exciting amenities and entertainment options offered on the Carnival Freedom. As one of Carnival’s most popular ships, the Freedom boasts an impressive array of onboard activities and dining options.

She’ll then take a short break before returning to the ship from December until February. Lee Mason is back on the ship after an earlier stint – he joined on 10th March and will stay onboard until July 2024, with Leon Smith then joining until the start of December. Then, Marty Pitts will join the ship and see everything through until March 2025.

Mercury Fillings: Uncovering the Truth in NHS Dentistry

Mercury Fillings: Uncovering the Truth in NHS Dentistry

Dental amalgam, commonly known as silver fillings, is a material used in dentistry to fill cavities caused by tooth decay. It is composed of a mixture of metals, including mercury, silver, tin, and copper. The use of dental amalgam has been a topic of debate for many years, with some people expressing concerns about the potential health risks associated with the mercury content.

In the United Kingdom, the National Health Service (NHS) has been phasing out the use of dental amalgam since 2009. However, it is still used in some cases, such as when a tooth is badly decayed or when the patient is allergic to other materials.
